Why do people always consider that shadowy figure the bad guy? I mean, all he is doing is attempting to help our characters blow their noses. There's nothing more embarrassing when meeting new people is having a bogie hanging out of your nose.

Hmm. For some reason I had remembered this episode as Brian being taken first then Ryan. I guess it made more sense that way to me; the gullible one gets taken first then the reluctant participant has time to go "I knew I shouldn't have come" before getting snatched last.
