In case it wasnt already obvious that I like to write dialogue-- I like to write dialogue...

The comic originally called for multiple people in each panel, but given the focus on the person talking and the ability to have cross panel reaction and how long it takes to draw some stuff, Kiey decided it'd be easier to draw it this way. In some comics I think it may have hurt the general feel of the conversation, but I think this comic made out okay with it this way...

Wait-- a girl is offering to buy you food-- this may require some extra consideration...

I like this comic cuz it shows Katie as more than just a dumb shopaholic-- it helps show that she is knows how the mall actually helps the situation, or at least making it appear like there is benefits in going to the mall... In some cities going to the mall is really almost a daily thing for high schoolers for social life.
