Now admittedly something had to happen otherwise Ryan wouldnt have followed Brian down the stairs-- or even lead the way... I would have loved to have had some eyes in behind the old ladies eyes watching those two, and not made reference to them to leave them as a subtle point.

And why, "there aren't really ghosts"? It is foolish to assume that a phenomenon that has reproduced itself thousands of times over will not do so again under ideal circumstances. Now, whether you believe in ghosts or not, there's simply to much evidence to believe that there's absolutely nothing to it but delusion.
